I am from Kansas but I live most the year in Iowa, besides the summer. Iowa has mostly fields of corn and beans and Kansas is fields of wheat. My family likes to travel and see different parts of the US and of the world that the Midwest in the US doesn't have. I've been to over 10 states, Puerto Rico, Switzerland, Germany, and The Netherlands. Also I've been to the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, but not yet tothe Pacific Ocean.
Self Assessment from South America:
I learned more about farming because our group did our project on helping the Guyana people grow coffee beans and give them a co-op to help with the process of storing and selling them. I didn't know what a co-op did before this project and now I do. I also found out that people from South America sell coffee beans, along with rice and tea. For my group I did the keynote and came up with the idea of doing something with coffee beans. I don't know of things that we could of did to help improve our project.
Self Assessment from Middle East:
It was interesting to do the Middle East because we watched Not Without My Daughter in Sociology class for our final. The movie was all about the Middle East and their customs and how life is over there. With watching that movie it gave me an insight already of the Middle East. In our project I did the keynote again and I got all the government information. The government in the Middle East is completely different than ours here in America for the most part. Also learning about all their religions and their different customs was very interesting because some of them are very strict. With our project this time I don't really know how it's benefiting our company that much with this one, I believe that the coffee in Guyana will bring in more profit for us while helping out the Guyana people, but also this proposal we have for the Middle East will help them out more.
Self Assessment from Asia:
The human rights in Asia are different from here in America, I know that already but I learned a little more on how more stricter they are over in Asia. I didn't really do much on this project because I was gone on the day that everybody else did pretty much all of it. I did though look at it all the stuff and the keynote that Brittney made. I think that our proposal is pretty good to let everybody know about the human rights in Asia. For us going in and helping them out with it and trying to change it, I don't know if it would really help because we are just making people more aware of it but in long term it could help out and fix the problem.
Self Assessment from Africa:
This project wasn't that hard to figure out, because there are so many issues going on over in Africa. We went with the Band-Aid idea because it seems that it would raise a lot of money and it would be really cool. We chose many bands to get a large diverse group of people to come, so that we get more profit. I did the overall keynote and helped brainstorm around ideas for the project. I think that this is one of our best ideas that we've had for helping out another continent/country.
